Free Walking Tour of Garachico
Free Walking Tour of Garachico
At 12:30 pm, we'll meet next to the Garachico Tourism Office and set off on our free walking tour. We'll explore the historic centre of this beautiful town in North Tenerife, which was once the commercial capital of the island.
We'll begin by strolling through Garachico's cobbled streets and sharing some fascinating facts about the town's history. During the tour, you'll learn about the importance of the town's port in the 16th century and how the eruption of the Trevejo volcano affected the locals. You'll also discover why this town has inspired numerous poets over the years.
The tour will take us through the historic centre, which has been declared an Asset of Tourist Interest due to its rich heritage. This heritage can be seen in its old stately homes and iconic buildings, such as the Castle of San Miguel, the Church of Santa Ana and the Convent of Santo Domingo.
As we explore the town, you'll be struck by the colourful façades we see along the way. Don't forget your camera!
Our free walking tour of Garachico will finish between 2 and 2:30 pm back at the starting point.
