Chinyero Volcano Hiking Tour
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Plaza de la Libertad in Garachico. After the introductions, we'll get on a minibus and head towards the Arenas Negras Recreational Area, from where we'll start this hiking route to the Chinyero volcano.
We'll hike for about 4 hours to explore the spectacular area of the Chinyero Special Nature Reserve. You're sure to be captivated by this stunning natural landscape!
During the hiking route, we'll learn all sorts of interesting facts about this volcanic site and how the Canary Islands were first discovered. Of course, we'll also remember the eruption of the Chinyero in 1909 and how this affected Tenerife and the surrounding areas. Whatsmore, during practically the whole route we'll be able to see the amazing silhouette of the Teide, the highest peak in Spain.
As we hike along the route we'll breathe fresh air and you'll be able to take hundreds of photos of the solidified lava flows that extend through this volcanic reserve. The contrast between the black earth of the Trevejo and Chinyero volcanoes with the green of the Canary Island pines is sure to catch your attention.
Of course, we'll also make some stops to rest and soak up the natural panoramas surrounding us.
Once the trekking route is over, we'll return to the vehicle and finish the activity back at the starting point, 6 hours later.
