Charming villages, historic landmarks and spectacular natural landscapes: discover the breathtaking beauty of Ireland's west coast on this tour of Connemara and the Wild Atlantic Way from Galway.
Connemara & Wild Atlantic Way Tour
On the morning of the tour, we'll meet up at the entrance to Kinlay Hostel in Galway and board a bus ready to set off on our adventure on the Wild Atlantic Way. You'll be captivated by the incredible beauty of Ireland's landscapes!
Travelling west along Galway Bay, we'll pass through the picturesque Irish towns of Barna, Furbo, Spiddal and Inverin. Full of thatched cottages and dry stone walls and surrounded by mountains, rivers and lakes, these villages offer a beautiful view of the Connemara region!
Continuing onwards, we'll visit one of Connemara's hidden gems, Bothar na Scragoige. After admiring the wild beauty of this bog area, we'll make a brief stop in the quaint coastal town of Roundstone and the nearby Dog's Bay Beach.
The next stop will be Derrygimlagh Bog, a remote place that at the beginning of the 20th century was the center of the world of communications and aviation. We'll tell you all the details!
Following the Wild Atlantic Way, we'll pass through Clifden, the capital of the Connemara region, and reach Sky Road, a twisting mountain road offering incomparable views of the ocean from its privileged vantage points.
The next 3 hours of the tour are up to you to choose. We can take you on a tour of Connemara National Park, an iconic enclave of western Ireland or, if you prefer, we can visit the exterior of Kylemore Abbey. Did you know that this place was commissioned by politician Mitchell Henry as a wedding gift for his wife Margaret?
After meeting back up again, we'll cross through the impressive Twelve Bens and Maumturk mountains and the Inagh Valley. We'll then pass the Connemara Giant and visit the famous Quite Man Bridge before arriving back in Galway at 6:30 pm.
