El Espolon Trekking Tour
El Espolon Trekking Tour
At 9 am, we'll depart from Futaleufú to a trail located in the surroundings of Lake Lonconao. This hidden lake of glacial origin is surrounded by lush vegetation and is one of the most beautiful in Chilean Patagonia.
Once we arrive, we'll begin a trekking route that will take us through 4 different sections of forest. We'll walk through 2 types of "cathedral forest" (called this way because they're 100-400 years old!), a Cohiues forest, and a Mañio forest. We'll also come across various native plant species, such as murtas, canelos, and notros.
After learning about the native botanical species, we'll continue the route until we reach the shore of Lake Lonconao. From there, we'll head to the summit of La Condolera hill, which offers magnificent views of the surrounding valleys, rivers, and mountains.
At the top of the hill, we'll see the Andean condors that give their name to this hill flying over our heads. After enjoying the views, we'll descend to the hillside of La Condolera and have a snack that includes a selection of local products.
Finally, we'll return to Futaleufú, where we'll arrive at 3 pm.
