Explore the spectacular landscapes of northern Madeira by comfortable 4x4 Jeep: discover the volcanic pools of Porto Moniz, the ancient trees of Fanal, and the vineyards of San Vicente!
Description
On the day of your tour, you'll be picked up from your hotel in downtown Funchal in a 4x4 Jeep, setting off to the northeast ready to explore this area of the island of Madeira. Your route will take you through the Paúl da Serra plateau, the expansive flatlands providing a different landscape to the dramatic mountain chains of the rest of the island. Make a stop to stretch your legs and spot the cows, goats, and sheep roaming the countryside.
Continuing onwards over the terrain in your 4x4 vehicle, you'll reach one of Madeira's most precious natural gems: Fanal. You'll be captivated by the beauty of its viewpoints and by the tranquil charm of the scenery as you stroll between the famous ancient trees here.
After your walk, you'll head to Pico da Urze, where you'll have time to indulge in a delicious meal of typical specialties at a local restaurant if you wish (not included). Then with renewed energy, you'll climb back into the Jeep and drive over to the famous natural pools of Porto Moniz. Discover the natural wonders of this area, which is one of the oldest cities in Madeira, before having the opportunity to enjoy a refreshing swim in the volcanic pools.
For the finishing touch on your 4x4 tour of northern Madeira, you'll visit the vineyards of San Vicente, which produce one of Madeira's best-known wines. You'll then be dropped back off at your hotel after a total of 7.5 hours.
