We'll meet at the designated time at the port of Funchal cruise terminal and from there, we'll start our walking tour of the capital of Madeira in search of its most traditional flavors.
Our food tour of Funchal will begin at a typical bar in the old town. In this bar, we'll try the famous poncha, a traditional drink from Madeira that's made with sugarcane aguardiente, honey, and lemon juice. You'll love its delicious sweet and fruity flavor!
Then, we'll continue our tour of Madeira's capital by visiting a bakery in the center of Funchal. Here, we'll taste the classic bolo do caco, a traditional bread with garlic butter beloved by the whole island. As you try it, you'll also discover which dishes are typically served with this local specialty.
Afterward, we'll leave Funchal's historic center behind and set off to a winery near the port. At this winery, we'll enjoy a glass of the famous Madeira wine. During the tasting, you'll learn how this wine is crafted and some facts about this renowned product.
Finally, after 2 hours exploring Funchal by foot, we'll conclude this food tour by returning to the meeting point.
