Join us on an excursion to the Alhambra of Granada, one of Europe's most prominent historical monuments. We'll travel from Fuengirola to marvel at the Andalusian architecture of this World Heritage Site.
Description
At the designated time, we'll pick you up at the meeting point in Fuengirola and board the bus that will take us to Granada, about 150 kilometers (93 miles) away. Once in this city, we'll begin to appreciate the prominent Nasrid or Arab legacy, which is strikingly evident as you stroll through the narrow cobblestone streets. On this trip, we'll get to visit Nasrid Dynasty's most precious monument which just happens to also be the most visited in Spain: the Alhambra.
But before entering the palace complex, you'll get three hours of free time to explore Granada on your own. The Plaza Nueva, the Torre de la Vela, or the famous Paseo de los Tristes... you'll soon see why some consider this to be the most beautiful city in Spain.
Once we arrive at the Alhambra, we'll see how the Arab essence has been kept intact since the 13th century. As we explore its different rooms and gardens, you'll discover why this World Heritage Site is sometimes called the eighth wonder of the world. We'll also visit the Alcazaba, the oldest part of the Alhambra.
You'll get to walk through the Medina, the Alcazaba, the Palace of Charles V, and the Generalife Gardens. When we finish our tour of the Alhambra, we'll return to the bus to head back to Fuengirola, where we'll arrive after a total of 10 hours.
Alhambra + Nasrid Palaces
If you want to make your visit to the Alhambra even more complete, you can add the ticket and the guided tour of the Nasrid Palaces to your tour. This way, you'll be able to see other emblematic areas of the monument, such as the courtyard of the Lions or the Palace of Comares. The only area we'll not visit in this option is the Alcazaba.
Itinerary changes
Sometimes, due to changes in availability, the itinerary might be reversed, i.e., we'll visit the Alhambra complex first, and then we'll leave you free time in the center of Granada.
