Itaipu Biological Refuge Hiking Tour
After picking you up at your hotel in Foz do Iguaçu, we'll go to the Itaipu Biological Refuge, just 15 minutes away from the city. Once there, we'll set out on a hiking route that will help us better understand the importance of environmental preservation.
We'll walk 2 kilometers along the Piracema Canal while we learn about the characteristics of the native forest and its 960 different types of plants. You'll become botanical experts!
At the end of the walk, we'll visit some buildings belonging to the refuge where ocelots, vultures, harpies, jaguars, snakes and many other species live together. Did you know that this place was created to protect the fauna and flora during the construction of the Itaipu hydroelectric dam?
After two hours of walking, we'll take you back to your hotel in Foz do Iguaçu.
