This ticket allows you to explore the Fougères-sur-Bièvre Castle at your own pace, a remarkable fortress in the heart of the Loire Valley, one of France's most historically rich regions.
Why visit the Fougères-sur-Bièvre Castle?
The Fougères-sur-Bièvre Castle is among the most prominent fortifications in the Loire Valley. With this ticket, you'll have the freedom to explore all the castle's stunning rooms. Its origins trace back to the mid-15th century when this region of France gained strategic importance in controlling a significant part of the kingdom.
In contrast to the Renaissance castles in the Loire Valley, Fougères Castle presents a more austere and defensive character. Positioned along the banks of the Bièvre River, the fortress was constructed using both limestone rubble from Beauce and tuff from the banks of the Cher River.
Your visit to Fougères-sur-Bièvre Castle will grant you access to the castle's garden and its various rooms, including the grand Council Chamber.
