Private Tour of North Martinique

When making your reservation, you'll have a choice of three options for your private tour of northern Martinique. Each tour includes pick up and drop off at your hotel in Fort-de-France and an exclusive English-speaking guide just for you and your group.

4.5 Hour Tour

We'll start with a guided tour of Fort-de-France, admiring the colourful facades of its houses and the late 19th century Saint Louis Cathedral. We'll then set off by minibus to the Sacré Coeur Church, a beautiful building inspired by one of the most important monuments of Paris.

Continuing our tour of the north of Martinique, we'll delve into its stunning natural landscapes. We'll make our way to the Alma River and visit the Saut Gendarme Waterfall, where you can enjoy a swim, before visiting banana and sugar cane plantations and exploring the traditional markets of Saint-Pierre to get a feel for rural life on the island. And of course, we'll get to sample some of Martinique's iconic products with a tasting of rum at a distillery and a delicious ice cream made with local ingredients.

Our final stop will be at the ruins of Saint-Pierre, a historic town that was destroyed by the eruption of Mount Pelée in the 20th century. We'll tell you about its fated past before returning to your hotel.

Timetable: daily departures at 9:30 am.

5 Hour Tour

If you choose this option, we'll focus on exploring the lush nature of northern Martinique. We'll first travel along the Caribbean coast, passing through the beautiful fishing villages of Le Carbet. After visiting an organic rum distillery, we'll stop at a black sand beach that has a special link to the French painter Paul Gauguin.

We'll then spend two hours at the Martinique Zoo before continuing our tour of the island towards Saint-Pierre. Rainforests, the Alma River and the Balata Botanical Garden await us. We'll also make a short stop at the Sacré Coeur Church before ending the tour.

Timetable: daily departures at 9 am.

8 Hour Tour

Spend a full day exploring the incredible attractions of northern Martinique on this 8 hour tour and combine the best of both of the two itineraries above.

During the tour, you'll get to explore Fort-de-France, discover the Sacré Coeur Church, walk around the Balata Botanical Gardens, visit a banana and sugar cane plantation, see the ruins of Saint-Pierre and enjoy a rum tasting at a distillery.

We'll also see the tiny villages of Sainte-Marie and tour the peninsula of La Caravelle. This is undoubtedly the best way to see everything northern Martinique has to offer!

Timetable: daily departures at 8:45 am.
