Northern Martinique Tour
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from the meeting point in Fort-de-France that you will have chosen and, from Martinique's capital we'll make our way towards the northern part of the island.
The first stop will be at the Balata Sacré-Cœur Church, a church whose architecture is inspired by the Sacré-Cœur in Paris. During the visit, we'll see what the main similarities and differences are between both monuments. Next, we'll make our way to the Balata Garden to visit the exceptional botanical space which extends to around 3 hectares.
In this location of immense beauty, we'll admire an endless amount of tropical flowers and plants that are famous for their aromas and colours. After visiting the garden, we'll continue this tour around the north of Martinique traversing a tropical jungle of green and exuberant landscapes. It will capture your attention from start to finish!
Continuing the tour on a road that runs parallel to the jungle itself, we'll arrive at a restaurant where we'll stop for something to eat that'll consist of a delicious lunch of typical dishes from the island. After eating, we'll make our way to the coastal town of Saint Pierre, one of the most beautiful towns on the northern side of the island. During the tour of this municipality, we'll also learn about the eruption of the Pelée volcano in 1902, which greatly affected Saint-Pierre.
The last stop will take place at a rum distillery, where you'll have the chance to try some different varieties of popular Caribbean drinks.
Finally, we'll return to the meeting point in Fort-de-France, where we'll arrive 7 hours after the initial pickup time.
