Stand Up Paddle, also known as SUP, or Paddleboarding, originated in the Pacific Islands, where it was a means of getting around. Then around 1960, it was used by surf instructors, so they could check on their students better.
If you've practised paddleboarding before and you already know what you're doing, or you want to learn by yourself, you can also rent all the equipment you'll need.
