Urubici & Serra do Río do Rastro Excursion
We'll pick you up at 7:10 am at your hotel in Florianópolis and head to Serra do Rio do Rastro. The first destination of our excursion will be the Serra do Rio do Rastro, at 4,757 feet (1,450 meters) above sea level.
From its viewpoint, we'll feast our eyes on the beautiful landscapes of the mountain range while we learn about the flora of the area. With a camera full of incredible photos, we'll return to the lower part and you'll have some free time to grab a bite to eat.
Then, we'll regroup and head in the direction of Urubici. On our way to this town, we'll visit the Barrinha waterfall and an apple farm, where we'll stop for half an hour to explore the area.
Arriving in Urubici, we'll discover a town surrounded by mountains and appreciate its natural beauty, formed by canyons, valleys and megalithic monuments. We'll pass by its Matriz Church, where we'll admire its cross-shaped floor plan and learn more about the history of Urubici. Did you know that it was founded by Jesuits who were looking for gold? Afterward, we'll leave you free time in the town for lunch.
During the excursion, we'll also discover the grotto of Nossa Senhora de Lourdes and the Serra do Corvo Branco mountain range, two must-see places in Urubici. After the walk, we'll head back to Florianópolis, where we'll finish the tour at approximately 8 pm.
Hotel pickup
Pickup is included as long as your hotel in Florianópolis is located in the north, west and downtown areas. If your accommodation is outside these areas, you'll need to make your own way to the following meeting point: Shopping Villa Romana. Please note that the pickup time depends on the location of your accommodation.
