Discover a little piece of Germany in Brazil on this excursion to Blumenau and Pomerode from Florianópolis.
Blumenau & Pomerode Excursion
Early in the morning, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Florianópolis and drive you to the starting point of this excursion to two of the most curious and interesting places in Brazil. After a two-hour drive along the Brazilian coast, we'll enter the state of Santa Catarina to reach our first destination, Blumenau.
Once there, we'll stroll along the banks of the Itajaí-Açú River, admiring the architecture of this place, which will feel like you've been transported to a typical German village. This is due to the nostalgia of the Germans who settled in this region and wanted to bring to Brazil the traditions and customs of their homeland.
Later we'll visit the Beer Garden, very similar to the typical German biergarten, the Blumenau City Hall and the Metropolitan Cathedral, as well as the Vila Germânica Park where German culture fills every corner. Here we'll make a stop for lunch, where you can enjoy either Brazilian cuisine or typical German food, whatever strikes your fancy.
Immediately afterward we'll head to the nearby town of Pomerode, known as the most German town in Brazil for the same reason as Blumenau. Pomerode, however, has the highest concentration of North German buildings.
We'll visit the most emblematic buildings featuring this type of architecture, as well as the Portal de Pomerode, the Schmidt Porcelain Factory, the Zoo and Vila Encantada. You'll even have the option for some free time to visit a craft brewery in Pomerode and take part in a beer tasting!
After finishing our tour of Pomerode, we'll return to Florianópolis, where we'll accompany you to your hotel.
