At the appointed time we'll meet at Piazza Duomo, in the heart of Florence, to begin a tour of Dante Alighieri's hometown. Ready to follow in the footsteps of the author of the Divine Comedy?
First up, we'll get to know the ancient Fiorenza at the foot of the Baptistery of St. John. Then, we'll move along to see where the affectionately named, Sommo Poeta, or Supreme Poet, was born and where he saw his beloved Beatrice for the first time. We'll revel in the details of one of the most famous love stories of all time!
Next, it's on to the Centro Studi Danteschi and the iconic Ponte Vecchio, where the fight between Guelphs and Ghibellines that divided the city in two took place. Afterwards, we'll reach the Piazza della Signoria and the Palazzo Vecchio, to marvel at the stunning facades.
Finally, we'll arrive at Piazza di Santa Croce to see one of the most beautiful statues of Dante, which portrays the famous poet holding in his right hand the Divine Comedy.
Then, after an immersive 3 hours, we'll bring our tour to an end.
