Take a day trip to Cinque Terre - a group of fishing villages on the Italian Riviera surrounded by hills and vineyards. One of the best day trips from Florence!
Description
The full-day trip begins bright and early. First thing in the morning, your guide will collect you from the meet point, where you'll climb aboard an air-conditioned coach and relax on a 2-hour journey to Cinque Terre, a complex comprised of romantic villages clinging to the rugged ravine.
The first stop is Manarola, the oldest of the Cinque Terre villages. The village’s economy is based on fishing and viticulture.
From Manarola, you'll take a train to Vernazza, a charming fishing town located on the banks of a spectacular part of the coast. We'll leave you some free time so that you can roam around on your own and explore the port.
Continue the journey to Monterosso, where you spend approximately two hours. This village is located in a small natural gulf and is famous for its long beaches and crystal-blue sea. Weather permitting, you’ll admire the stunning views of Cinque Terre from the water.
Finally, you'll hop back on a train that will cross La Spezia until you get to where the coach is waiting for you to head back to Florence. The tour comes to an end at 7:30 pm in Piazzale Montelungo, near Santa Maria Novella station.
Lunch at Monterosso
We'll stop at Monterosso for lunch. You can either pick a local restaurant once you get there or choose to do this tour with lunch included. If you prefer this option, the menus include seafood salad, pasta with pesto, and dessert accompanied by water or wine. If you prefer a vegetarian or gluten-free menu, please let us know in the comments section.
Please keep in mind that lunch is not included in the low season. It is only optional in the high season (from March 25th to October 31st)
Self-Guided Cinque Terre Tour
If you prefer to explore the Cinque Terre at your own pace, you can also book this tour and discover the area at your own leisure. In this option, you'll travel to La Spezia/Levanto by bus and you'll have the whole day to explore the Cinque Terre at your own pace. This option does not include transportation between the different villages.
Your host, who will accompany you on the bus, will indicate the meeting point at La Spezia, which you must get to at the end of the day to travel back to Florence.
