Let yourself be swept away by the rolling green hills and wax palm forests of Colombia on our private day trip to the Cocora Valley. You'll also do a horse riding activity in the heart of the Colombian coffee-growing axis.
Cocora Valley Day Trip & Horse Riding
At your chosen time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Filandia and take our minibus to the Guadalajara Reserve. When we get to this incredible natural environment, we'll take a pleasant horse ride along the mountains and streams.
From the saddle, you'll look out at excellent views of the whole reserve. We'll trot past viewpoints, cross streams and learn about the history of this coffee-growing region.
After riding our horses, we'll head to the Cocora Valley. This natural park is dotted with wax palms, which is the national tree of Colombia. We'll learn all about the characteristics of this plant as we ride through this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Next, we'll hop into the 'wallys'. These vehicles are a type of car used in the coffee plantations, and we'll use them to explore the Cocora Valley while discussing its flora and fauna. Afterwards, we'll stop at the house of a local farmer and have a delicious lunch typical of the Colombian coffee growing axis.
We'll then return to the minibus and drive back to your hotel in Filandia, where we'll arrive 6 hours after the start of our day trip. See you next time!
