Castle Voltaire Ticket
Castle Voltaire Ticket
The ticket to Castle Voltaire in Ferney-Voltaire gives you access to the magnificent home where the intellectual spent the last 20 years of his life. In fact, the town was originally just called Ferney but was renamed to honor the famous philosopher.
Behind the elegant neoclassical façade, there is a museum space dedicated to the philosopher. In the exhibition, you can see how day-to-day life was for Voltaire during the Age of Enlightenment. You will encounter his private collection of artwork, and travel back in time when you stroll through his library and office. It was here where he wrote great works of literature such as Candide and Treatise on Tolerance.
No trip to the Château would be complete without also visiting its beautiful French-style gardens which extend over seven hectares of land. Strolling around here, you will feel far removed from the hustle and bustle of modern city life.
