The monastery of Santa Maria de Pombeiro is one of the most important Benedictine temples in the North Atlantic region of Portugal. Moreover, if you're an art aficionado, you can't miss out on the opportunity to visiting this religious complex, which is part of the Portuguese Romanesque Route!

By purchasing this ticket, you can access this building whenever you wish to during the opening hours of the monastery. Did you know that since 1910 it's been listed as a National Monument? You'll discover its three-nave church built between the 12th and 13th centuries during your visit. You can also explore the main chapel, which was rebuilt, but still retains its essence of the purest Romanesque style.

Although the church was subject to numerous modifications and reparations over the centuries, the sculpture of its main doorway, decorated with plant motifs, stands out. It's one of the best examples of sculpture in this monastery, and without a doubt, in the Portuguese Romanesque as a whole.

Wednesday to Friday: from 10 am to 6 pm.

Saturdays: from 10 am to 1 pm.
