Salcha, Delta Junction & Summit Lake Day Trip
Salcha, Delta Junction & Summit Lake Day Trip
Between 8 and 9 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Fairbanks and head south to see some of the natural treasures of interior Alaska.
We'll drive along the coastline of the Tanana River as we admire the lush beauty of this state. The first stop will be at a traditional carpentry store in Sacha where we'll discover one of the most outstanding works in the area: birch wood carving.
Next, we'll continue exploring the Big Delta State Historic Park, where we'll travel back to the early 20th century thanks to the traditional houses that remain almost in perfect condition. What's more, here we'll see the fascinating landscapes of Quartz Lake, Delta Flats, the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System, and the Delta Clear Water River.
Anyone hungry? We'll stop at Delta Junction, where you'll have free time for lunch at a local restaurant. After an energizing lunch, we'll visit Sullivan's Roadhouse, a perfect place to review the history of the gold rush in Alaska in the late 19th century.
Afterward, we'll take in the beautiful views of the rivers and mountains of the Black Rapids Glacier, where we'll also admire the abundant wildlife in the area. Moose, buffalo, or caribou will be featured in all of your pictures. As the finishing touch to the tour, we'll visit Summit Lake, a place of unparalleled natural beauty.
Lastly, we'll return to your hotel in Fairbanks between 8 pm and 9 pm.
