Fátima, Óbidos, Nazaré & Batalha Day Trip
Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel to set off for some of the most devout and historic places in Portugal.
Our first stop will be the Sanctuary of Fátima, a neo-baroque-style building with a great religious tradition. Did you know that it's the most important pilgrimage centre in the country? It's one of the most important Marian churches in the world!
After free time for lunch in a local restaurant, we'll continue our journey to the area that witnessed the Battle of Aljubarrota. There, we'll visit the famous Monastery of Batalha, an example of the transition between Gothic and Manueline architectural styles and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
We'll continue our trip to Nazaré, a charming fishing village that nowadays has become a meeting point for lovers of water sports, especially surfing. Its huge waves will make it clear why!
Lastly, we'll go to Óbidos, a walled city that will take you back to the past. There, we'll stroll through its cobbled streets, and see traditional houses and the imposing medieval castle. Top tip: don't leave without tasting the typical ginjinha d'Obidos, a sweet liqueur served in a small glass.
Finally, after 11 hours of enjoying all of these wonders of Portugal, we'll end the tour at your hotel.
