Dare to take on the sky-high walkways of the famous Caminito del Rey on this day trip from Estepona. We'll get to cross a footbridge over the impressive Gaitanes Gorge!
Caminito del Rey Excursion
We'll pick you up at the selected time on Avenida Litoral in Estepona, and begin making our way to the Conde de Guadalhorce reservoir. Next to this reservoir, located in the interior of the province of Málaga, is the famous Caminito del Rey.
After learning about the history of this path, inaugurated by King Alfonso XIII in 1921, we'll adjust our safety helmets. Then, we'll begin to walk along the spectacular Caminito del Rey, whose wooden footbridge is suspended nearly 330 feet (100 meters) above the Guadalhorce River.
As we walk along this path with a width of just over 3 feet (1 meter), we'll take in magnificent panoramic views of the Gaitanes Gorge. We'll cover a total of 1.9 miles (3 km), a route that will take us from two and a half to three hours, making various stops along the way so that you can enjoy the stunning scenery at your leisure.
We'll also stop at several viewpoints where you can take pictures of both the Guadalhorce reservoir and the mountains of Málaga. This unique route through the Caminito del Rey will end with our return to the beginning of the trail, where you'll have an hour to rest and refuel - don't forget to bring your picnic lunch!
Finally, we'll return to the meeting point in Estepona, arriving 10 hours after the start of the activity.
