Traditional Moroccan Cooking Class
Class Details
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at 287 Rue Oued El Makhazine, next to the taxi rank. Ready to discover the exotic flavours of Morocco? Let's go!
We'll make our way towards Haha Hills, a beautiful place in the Essaouira countryside and full of argan trees. On this tour of the south of Essaouira, it's very likely that we'll see the famous goats up in the trees.
Once we've arrived, we'll visit a souk to gather some fresh ingredients for the dishes we'll make. With the groceries bought, our next stop will be at a local house, more specifically at an authentic Amazigh kitchen equipped with traditional utensils that we'll use to make some delicious dishes.
Two charming women will show us how to make Amazigh flatbread: from grinding the barley to baking it. We'll also learn how to make some delicious couscous in a classic clay pot. We'll learn everything we need to know about the vital ingredients of these delicious Amazigh dishes. We'll learn to make vegetable and goat meat tajin with olive oil and Moroccan spices.
To put the cherry on top of this experience, you'll get to try the delicious dishes you'll have prepared. If the weather is good, we'll have lunch outside surrounded by nature. After eating, we'll enjoy some fresh herbal tea. Delicious!
Before returning to Essaouira, you'll have the chance to visit an argan oil cooperative and learn about the production of this unique oil.
Finally, after 7 hours together, we'll bring this tour to an end and say our goodbyes back at the meeting point.
