Los Alerces National Park Tour
Los Alerces National Park Tour
After picking you up at your hotel in Esquel at 2:30 pm, we'll drive to Los Alerces National Park: a beautiful Patagonian area located on the border between Argentina and Chile.
We'll start the route crossing the Percey River by the so-called "Puente de Fierro" (Iron Bridge), an old footbridge used by the carters who used to travel to Esquel to sell their products. We'll follow the route bordering the Terraplén and La Coqueta lagoons from the other shore. Nearby we'll see the majestic lake Futalaufquen and the village of the same name, whose stone buildings were designed by the prestigious Buenos Aires architect Alejandro Bustillo.
After admiring these landscapes, we'll go to the Alero de Pinturas Rupestres, an area with paintings dating back more than 1600 years have been found, a valuable testimony of the Tehuelche culture! The tour will continue to the nearby viewpoints to the Museum of Nature, where we'll learn about the characteristics of the local wildlife.
We'll then make a few brief stops at the Futalaufquen lodge and Puerto Limonao to admire and photograph the surrounding lakes, mountains, valleys and forests - an exploration of nature in the heart of Patagonia!
Finally, we'll set off on our return journey. Arrival at your hotel in Esquel is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
