Entrance to El Barranco Perdido

El Barranco Perdido is an adventure and paleontology park located in Enciso, a village in La Rioja. The village is located in a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve where 3,000 dinosaur footprints have been found! With your ticket, you can enjoy at your leisure all the facilities of this fascinating park.

The park is divided into 4 main thematic areas:

Paleontological Circuit

In this area of El Barranco Perdido, you can enjoy 2 fun family workshops:

  • Paleontologist for a Day: Look for ichnites, the fossil footprints left by dinosaurs, with the help of the special tools we'll provide you with!
  • Paleontological Treasure Hunt: In this family activity, you'll have to solve a series of enigmatic Cretaceous clues on a map to find the treasure!

 

Multi-Adventure Circuit

This area is dedicated to adventure activities and has several attractions:

  • Children from 4 years old to 119 cm tall: fun workshops on footprints and dinosaurs
  • From 120 cm: a small zip line, suspension bridges, a climbing wall, and archery
  • From 140 cm: large suspension bridges
  • From 16 years old: a super zip line and an adrenaline-pumping Xtreme circuit

 

Laboratory of Time

Here you'll find paleontology workshops for children and interactive games about the Biosphere Reserve in which the park is located.

Next to the laboratory is also the Cretaceous Museum of El Barraco Perdido, where you can learn how the ichnites of the Riojan deposits were formed!

Cretaceous Beach

This area has a set of outdoor pools where you can take a refreshing dip. There are also many sun loungers for sunbathing and relaxing.

Opening hours

The opening hours of El Barranco Perdido are as follows:

  • April 6 to June 4: Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays (Good Friday and May 1) from 11 am to 6:30 pm
  • June 10 to 30: Tuesday to Sunday from 11 am to 7 pm
  • July 2 to September 1: daily from 11 am to 8 pm
  • September 2 to 8: daily from 11 am to 6:30 pm
  • September 14 to October 13: Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am to 6:30 pm
