Description
We'll meet up at the Alfonso X el Sabio Square at the designated time. From here, we'll begin our tour of El Puerto de Santa Maria, famous for being a historic trade port connected to the New World.
Our first stop will be at the San Marcos Castle, a beautiful fortress that, together with the Virgin de los Milagros, forms the city's coat of arms. We'll admire the mixture of styles of this impressive 12th-century castle built on the base of an ancient Arab mosque. We'll also see the exterior of the Araníbar palace, which will allow us to discover why El Puerto de Santa María is known as the city of a hundred palaces.
We'll continue strolling through the streets of this town and visiting other places of interest, such as the Plaza de España, the exterior of the minor basilica Virgen de los Milagros, & the palace of the Marquesa de Candía.
After visiting the most representative places of El Puerto de Santa María, we'll go to a local bar to learn about the wine-making process and enjoy a glass of wine, the perfect finishing touch!
