El Calafate Safari
El Calafate Safari
We'll pick you up from your hotel at the selected time and head to the Estancia 25 de Mayo nature reserve.
We'll explore the area on board a jeep for a real safari experience. You'll see guanacos, a typical South American species similar to a llama, Andean condors and foxes, among other animals.
But the animal kingdom will not be the only attraction on this safari, as we'll also make several stops to discover important marine fossils found in this area. What's more, we'll learn all about the area's rich geology and what rural life is like in southern Argentina.
Then we'll follow the course of the Calafate stream towards the mountains. We'll reach a natural viewpoint where we can admire incredible panoramic views of the Sierra Baguales, over 2000 meters high. Did you know that this is the mountain range that separates Argentina from Chile?
Before heading back, we'll stop for lunch or dinner (depending on the time selected). Here you can fuel up with homemade soup; a lamb casserole and a delicious chocolate mousse. There'll also be a vegetarian option, which includes a vegetable stir-fry, bread and dessert.
On a full stomach, we'll take you back to your hotels at 2 pm if you've chosen the morning safari, or at 9 pm, if you've chosen the afternoon safari.
