Walking across an ice field is a unique experience that you'll never forget. Join us on our Perito Moreno Glacier Hike & Boat Trip for an unforgettable day in the Los Glaciares National Park.
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in El Calafate, we'll set off westbound along National Route 11. After a 1 hour journey, we'll arrive at the Bajo las Sombras port. From here, we'll go on a boat trip through the Los Glaciares National Park.
We'll spend 20 minutes sailing through the southern part of Lake Argentino in the area of Brazo Rico, before disembarking at the shore on the other side. Next, we'll get kitted out in our crampons, harnesses and helmets and start our 4-hour hike. Our hike will take place on the south face of the Perito Moreno Glacier, where we'll see breathtaking blue lagoons, deep crevasses and huge sinkholes.
During our hike, we'll make several stops that'll be divided into a number of stages so you can admire the Dos Picos, Pietrobelli and Cervantes mountains at your leisure. You'll also have 30 minutes of free time to relax on the glistening snow - don't forget your packed lunch!
After lunch, we'll set off on another hike, this time lasting 1 hour, to the shore of Lake Argentino. When we arrive, we'll travel between the two glaciers once again as we sail just over 4 miles (7 km) to the footbridges of the Perito Moreno.
Having seen the most famous glacier in Argentina, it'll then be time to sail back to the Bajo Las Sombras port and return to your hotel in El Calafate. We should arrive back at your hotel after 12 hours together.
