Do you want to sail across Lake Argentino and hike through the Los Glaciares National Park? This tour includes hiking and sailing through these icy landscapes.
Description
If you're passionate about nature, this trip will give you the chance to delve into the magnificent Los Glaciares National Park. This experience combines hiking trails and boat sailing so you get the chance to admire the landscapes of Patagonia from all angles.
After picking you up from your hotels at the scheduled time, we'll head to the port of Punta Bandera, where we'll sail off on a boat trip along the Canal de los Témpanos of Lake Argentino.
Our first stop will be at Toro Bay. We'll set off on a 45-minute hike to discover the wildlife of the Patagonian forest. You'll walk among white oaks, Antarctic beech trees, cinnamon trees and many others. We'll even see a century-old guindo tree. Its trunk is over three metres in diameter!
We'll then continue walking until we reach a waterfall where we'll be able to stop and rest. On the way back to the boat we'll approach the hanging glaciers of Cerro Negro and Cerro Mayo. There we'll have another steep walk among icy mountains. The walk will last about for an hour, but there's no rush, we're here to enjoy ourselves. We'll also stop to eat while admiring panoramic views of the landscape.
Then we'll set sail once more on Lake Argentino towards the Perito Moreno glacier, one of the most famous glaciers in the Los Glaciares National Park. You'll have an hour of free time to walk along the footbridges that offer unique views of this almost 80-metre high ice wall.
We'll be back at the port of Punta Bandera where a vehicle will be waiting for us to take us back to El Calafate. The tour will ned after 10 hours together.
