Estancia 25 de Mayo Visit, Dinner & Show
Estancia 25 de Mayo Visit, Dinner & Show
We'll pick you up at your hotel in El Calafate at the scheduled time and drive to the Estancia 25 de Mayo, a massive 17,000-hectare ranch located in the heart of Patagonia.
Upon arrival at the estancia, we'll be greeted with mate, tortas fritas (fried cakes), and coffee. While we have a snack, the ranch staff will talk to us about the history, customs, and traditions of the Patagonian estancias.
Afterward, we'll attend a sheep herding demonstration and visit the shearing shed. We continue our visit at the estancia with a short walk to the Calafate stream viewpoint, where we'll enjoy a tasting of lamb confit accompanied by mulled wine.
After this appetizing experience, we'll go to El Quincho, a restaurant on the ranch specializing in grilled meats. Here we'll be welcomed with a drink, which we'll enjoy while watching a video about the local families.
Following this presentation, we'll enjoy a typical Argentinean dinner. The menu will include marinated eggplant with creole empanadas as a starter; grilled lamb with rustic potatoes, a mix of other meats, and a salad buffet as the main course; and a dessert, to choose between an apple or red fruit jam with ice cream, or pancakes with dulce de leche.
The dinner will also be enlivened with a folkloric show featuring local artists, who will show us the different traditional dances of Argentina.
Finally, we'll take you back to your hotel in El Calafate.
