El Calafate Balcony ATV Trip

  • 85 reviews | 839 travellers
A very nice experience. We visited a beautiful estancia with spectacular views. Mauri and Santiago were super friendly and fun. It was very nice to be able to contemplate the city and Lake Argentino from above and appreciate the beauty of the Patagonian steppe. The food at the estancia was local and was 10 out of 10! We loved it!! Thank you very much. PS. The animals at the estancia were very friendly too!

Argentino Lake, the Stone Labyrinth, and the Stone of the Hats are just some of the amazing natural sights we'll discover on this ATV tour of the balconies of El Calafate!

Description

At the scheduled time, we'll collect you from your hotel and begin our ATV trip through the Huyliche mountain range to the balconies of El Calafate. Having driven up to 1,100 metres above sea level, we'll enjoy spectacular views over the Andes Mountains, the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, the steppe and Lake Argentino.

After this photo stop at Cerro Huyliche, we'll begin a short hike down to the El Calafate Balconies. Here, we'll enjoy an informational talk to learn more about the geography and geology of Cerro Fitz Roy, Lake Argentino, the Perito Moreno Glacier and more of the region's natural wonders.

We'll then head back down the mountain in the 4x4 vehicle and visit Estancia Huyliche, a cattle ranch that dates back to the 1920s. After learning all about its history, we'll have a well-earned break for lunch or a snack, depending on whether you've booked the morning or afternoon tour.

Lunch and dinner include a meat empanada, beef casserole, chocolate brownie, mineral water, juice and a class of Santa Julia Malbec red wine. You'll have the option to upgrade to a Premium wine if you want. The snack includes coffee, tea and juice with homemade cake, scones and pastries. Also available is a gluten-free option, which consists of a pumpkin soup, lentil stew and brownie, as well as a vegetarian option, which includes an empanada, vegetable stew and brownie.

Finally, after 4 hours of exploring, we'll head back to El Calafate, where you'll be dropped off at your hotel.
