Petra and Wadi Rum 2-Day Tour from Eilat

Itinerary

Day 1: Eilat - Aqaba - Wadi Rum

At the appointed time we will meet at the agreed meeting point in Eilat and, aboard a bus, we will leave Israel and enter Jordan to visit Aqaba. We will be captivated by the narrow streets of the city and we will see its grand mosque, which is striking for its pristine white colour.

The walk through Aqaba will take us to a 16th-century Ottoman fortress which offers unforgettable views. We will be able to see perfectly the border crossing of Israel, Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. After the tour of Aqaba, you will have some free time for lunch and then we will head to Wadi Rum. Are you ready for a desert safari?

We will take a 4x4 tour of Wadi Rum to discover the unusual landscapes of the Valley of the Moon. Admiring its plains and mountain formations, you will discover why this place was chosen as a filming location for the Star Wars saga. It will seem like you are on another planet!

We will end the day arriving at the camp where we will spend the night. We will enjoy the sunset in the desert and recover our energy with dinner.

Day 2: Wadi Rum - Petra - Eilat

The second day of the tour will be spent visiting Petra, a two-hour drive from Wadi Rum. If you wish, you can buy a picnic so that you can have breakfast on board the bus during the trip.

The guided tour of Petra will allow you to discover the history of this ancient site. Did you know that it is known as the Rose City? Its temples and tombs were excavated with great skill from reddish-coloured cliffs, hence the name.

We will discover who the Nabataeans were, learn about their beliefs and talk about the rise and fall of this Arab people and their relations with the Roman Empire. You won't stop learning new things!

While we reveal all the secrets of Petra, we will be able to see its most emblematic buildings, such as the Tomb of the Obelisks, the Theatre and the Treasury. We will also give you two hours of free time at the site.

We will have lunch and finish the day by returning to Israel on a road trip that will take approximately two and a half hours. Arrival at the departure point in Eilat is scheduled for 19:30.

Accommodation

This tour includes one night's accommodation at Magic Rum Camp. You can choose a standard double room or a superior option which offers a very special stay in a double room that resembles a space tent. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms and wifi connection. In case there is no availability, we will stay in a similar camp respecting the standard and superior layouts.

Pickup

This tour includes pick-up from different meeting points in Eilat. During the booking process, you will be able to see the list of available pick-up points so that you can indicate where you want to start the activity.
