Private tour to Ana Kakenga and Ahu Akivi
Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet you at your hotel on Easter Island. From there, we'll set off on this day trip to Ana Kakenga and Ahu Akivi, where world-renowned moai sculptures and a wonderous cave await us!
The first stop will be at Ana Kakenga, popularly known as the 'Cave of Two Windows'. This cave, with its narrow entrance and ideal location, was the night shelter of the ancestors of the island of Rapa Nui.
Venturing into the Ana Kakenga Cave, we'll get breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean at two different points. Along the way, we'll also talk about how this location offered protection from potential threats and delve into the history of the island's ancient inhabitants.
We'll continue our journey to Ahu Akivi, a sacred place where the seven sculptures of the explorers who discovered Rapa Nui are located. As we explore the area, we'll discuss the legend of this these sculptures and the significance of the first settlers of Easter Island.
Very close to Ahu Akivi is Puna Pau, where we'll take some time to unwind before ending the private tour. Did you know that this is where the headdresses still worn by the moai sculptures were made? Before concluding the tour, we'll learn how these headdresses were made.
After 3-5 hours of adventure, we'll conclude this activity at your hotel on Easter Island.
