Looking for something different to do on Easter Island? Don't miss this Rapa Nui fishing experience off the coast of Hanga Roa.

Description

At the indicated time we'll pick you up from your hotel on Easter Island to embark on this exciting adventure along the coastline of Hanga Roa.

At Hanga Piko, the fishing port of the island's capital, we'll meet with a Rapa Nui native and expert fisherman who will be our guide during this exciting experience. We'll board a boat and venture into the Pacific, sailing along the beautiful coast of Hanga Roa.

While enjoying the panoramic views of the island from the water, we'll gain an insight into the traditional fishing techniques used for generations by the Rapa Nui. We'll see how the handmade hook and harpoon are used, and learn how the locals are able to hold their breath for two minutes, in order to catch fish.

After the fishing demonstration, we'll continue exploring the coast of Hanga Roa and its natural treasures, among which are its imposing cliffs and enigmatic caves. On board the boat, we'll enjoy magical views as we learn about the rich history and culture of Rapa Nui island. If you're up for it, you can also take a refreshing dip and go snorkelling!

We'll gradually make our way to Hanga Piko, where this unforgettable fishing experience on Easter Island will come to an end. After a total of 3-4 hours of activity, we'll take you back to your accommodation.
