Private Tour of Dushanbe
Private Tour of Dushanbe
We'll pick you up at the time of your choice at your hotel to start our private tour of the capital of Tajikistan. Ready to get to know the multiculturalism of Dushanbe?
The city's origins date back to the 5th century BC when it was founded as a small village. In 1924, it obtained the status of capital of Tajikistan and remained under Soviet rule until the dissolution of the USSR.
To start learning about the history of Dushanbe, we'll visit the Memorial of Ismail Samani, governor of the Samanid Empire and founder of the state of Tajikistan. This important figure in Tajikistan's history also gives name to the highest mountain in the former USSR. In this part of the city, we'll also see the Presidential Palace and a flag of the country that has achieved a Guinness record: the tallest flagpole in the world – it measures 541 feet (165 meters)!
The next stop will be the National Museum, consisting of 22 rooms displaying everything from antiques to modern works of art – it'll be a journey through Tajik culture! Next, we'll take a break for lunch on your own, and then continue the tour by heading to Kokhi Navruz. This beautiful building was built to be a large tea house and now houses a handicraft museum.
We'll then move on to Eram Park and stroll through its 40-hectare botanical garden – you'll love the different varieties of flowers! The last stop of the private tour of Dushanbe will be in the financial center, where we'll end the tour with a beautiful view of the capital.
Finally, we'll take you back to your hotel after 6 hours of exploring this magical city.
