Durango Wild West Tour
Durango Wild West Tour
Mike Wagner, Charlton Heston, John Wayne... we're sure these names will ring a bell! We'll pick you up from your hotel in Durango and set off on a tour of the most iconic filming locations from the Wild West genre.
We'll begin by admiring the incredible scenery of the Peña del Águila reservoir, which is surrounded by eucalyptus forests and candelilla bushes. Around 20 minutes away from the reservoir, we'll find the La Joya ranch, owned by John Wayne. Films such as The Sons of Katie Elder and the Texas Rising series were filmed in this enchanting spot.
Afterwards, we'll head to the village of San Vicente de Chupaderos. We'll explore its streets and visit the old saloon, the sheriff's office, the gallows and the cemetery. You might recognize some parts of the town, as Westerns such as White Feather was filmed here.
So you can walk in the shoes of a real cowboy, and we'll visit the Villas del Oeste Theme Park, where over 150 national and international productions were shot during the 60s and 70s. We'll wander around the ghost town to see the jail, the saloon and even a cancan dancer show and a duel to the death - watch out for gunfire!
We'll then emerge from the world of Westerns and return to your hotel in Durango, where we'll arrive 5.5 hours later.
