Step into the past of Durango State on our La Ferrería & El Pueblito day trip. You'll see a former hacienda converted into a beautiful palace plus an unparalleled natural environment.
La Ferrería & El Pueblito Day Trip
We'll pick you up from your hotel and set off on our day trip to some of Durango State's most beautiful spots.
First of all, we'll visit the La Ferrería archaeological site and discover how tribes such as the Nahua and Tepehuano lived as well as, later on, a sedentary group. We'll see a ball game, traditional houses, terraced houses and petroglyphs that'll give us an idea of this settlement's antiquity.
We'll then visit the former hacienda La Ferrería de Flores, which dates back to 1855. Here, we'll learn about the importance of the mining industry in this area as we walk through the old stables that have been converted into gardens. Not far from here, we'll be able to see breathtaking views of the Tunal River canyon.
Our next stop is the El Pueblito Ecological Park, a beautiful area filled with open green spaces, volleyball courts, zip lines and hanging bridges. Here, you'll have some free time to eat lunch. We recommend trying the elotes (corn on the cob) and carnitas (pulled pork). The Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe is also well worth a visit.
After a fun day exploring Durango State, we'll start our return journey with our arrival at your hotel 8 hours later.
