Durango Guided Tour
Durango Guided Tour
When making your booking, you'll be able to choose between two different routes. Both tours start at 10 am and last 4 hours, and include hotel pickup, bus transport, and an English-speaking guide. Below, you can see the details of each one:
Durango Guided Tour + Mining Tunnel Museum
After picking you up from your hotel, we'll go to the Plaza de Armas, where we'll see the Durango Cathedral, a magnificent baroque religious building. We'll then visit the Museum of Sacred Art and learn about the Christianisation that took place during the colonial era, as well as the mysteries of the faith in this part of Mexico.
We'll then go to the Mining Tunnel Museum to take a closer look at a variety of tools, such as hydraulic hammers, iron vats, lighting lamps and minerals such as quartz, hematite and blue quartzite. On our way out, we'll discuss the Holy Inquisition in the Plazuela Baca Ortiz, and unravel the secrets of the Calle de los Ahorcados.
Lastly, we'll admire the ornamental features on the Conde del Valle de Súchil Palace's façade, which might leave you speechless!
Durango Guided Tour + Francisco Villa Museum
If you choose this option, we'll also visit the Plaza de Armas, the Museum of Sacred Art, the Calle de los Ahorcados, and the Plazuela Baca Ortiz. After the tour around Durango, we'll visit the Francisco Villa Museum, which is located inside the Zambrano Palace. At the museum, we'll learn all about the Mexican Revolution and the importance of the militant Pancho Villa, a prominent military figure.
