Dresden Christmas Market Tour
Tour Details
If you're visiting Dresden during the holidays, a visit to the Christmas market is a must! Join us at the Semperoper Opera House in Theaterplatz at the indicated time to begin a festive journey through the heart of Dresden.
With our guide leading the way, we'll step into the Striezelmarkt, one of Germany’s oldest Christmas markets, dating back over 600 years. Located in the charming Altmarkt square, the market offers a true taste of German tradition, with twinkling lights, the scent of mulled wine, and the warmth of local crafts.
As we explore, we'll discover wooden stalls filled with treasures, from handcrafted ornaments from the Ore Mountains to Froebel stars and the famous Stollen, Dresden’s traditional Christmas cake.
We'll enjoy a glass of mulled wine as the festive sounds of live music and carol singers fill the air, creating a magical atmosphere for everyone!
There's also plenty for children to enjoy, including a vintage carousel, craft workshops, and even a visit from Father Christmas! Be sure to see the lighting of the giant Christmas tree—a true highlight of the market.
As we stroll through the market, we'll see Dresden come alive with holiday spirit, from the grand Dresden Castle to the beautiful Frauenkirche, with every corner radiating Christmas cheer.
Finally, after a total of 1.5 hours, we’ll finish the tour at the Altmarkt. Happy holidays!
