Ribeira Sacra Tourist Train Ride
Description
We'll meet in the centre of Doade at the selected time and board a tourist train that will take us to explore the impressive and beautiful landscapes of the Ribeira Sacra, one of the most enigmatic and beautiful regions of Galicia.
During the train journey, we'll travel along the steep and abrupt slopes of the Sil Canyon, an impressive gorge that has been shaped over millennia by the river of the same name. Along the way, we'll enter the Amandi area, famous for its terraced vineyards dating back to Roman times. These vineyards, known as ‘heroic’ because of the steepness of their slopes, offer spectacular views of the riverbank and its endless stepped terraces.
We'll continue our tour through this wonderful Galician landscape, passing through ancient vineyards, and while enjoying the natural beauty, we'll learn about the rich history and culture that surrounds the Ribeira Sacra. This region, known for its monasteries and its wine tradition, is a hidden treasure that has preserved its charm over the centuries.
After an hour of a train ride, we'll return to the starting point and finish the tour.
