McLeod Ganj Guided Tour
Description
Meet us at McLeod Ganj Main Square at the indicated time to kick off our guided tour of this peculiar and unique neighborhood in Dharamshala. We'll stroll through the area as we see charming streets and learn about the rich Buddhist and Tibetan culture found here.
Our first stop is in front of the Tsuglag Khang Temple, also known as the Dalai Lama Temple. This is one of the most renowned Buddhist Temples worldwide. Thousands of people make their pilgrimage to this site every year. We'll visit the sacred sanctuary and uncover the Dalai Lama's significant role.
After taking in the importance of this site, we'll head to Kora, one of India's largest Tibetan settlements. Here, too, we'll stroll along the streets as we get to know the people who live here, like the monks and nuns of the monastery.
We'll participate in reciting sacred mantras as we hike up to Kora's lookout point to enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views. From this viewpoint, we'll see the majestic Dhauladhar and Himalaya mountain ranges.
Back in downtown McLeod Ganj, we'll give you some free time to roam around the main market and purchase souvenirs. At the market, you'll find exquisite artisanal goods, like Tibetan mats or carpets.
After 3 hours of cultural immersion guided through McLeod Ganj, we'll return to our starting point and say goodbye.
