Explore the magnificent monuments of New Delhi or the vibrant streets of Old Delhi on a 3.5-hour bike tour of the city accompanied by an expert guide!
Itinerary
When you make this reservation, you hava a choice of the following two routes. Both are approximately 3.5 hours and depart from Barakhamba Road Metro:
Tour of Old Delhi
Our tour on bicycle around the old city runs through the narrow, pretty streets of the city centre. The first stop is the beautiful Red Fort. After hearing about the turbulent history of this bastion, we continue the route to the Chandni Chowk market, where we appreciate the customs and way of life of the local population up close. Just in front of the market square we will admire the majestic façade of one of the most beautiful mosques in the city: Jama Masjid.
We continue the route to other interesting locations around the historic centre of Delhi, such as the square with the Fatehpuri Masjid Mosque. The tour will end back at the Broadway Hotel, where we will replenish our energy with a well-deserved breakfast.
Tour of New Delhi
On this route we will cycle through the so-called ‘Lutyens' Delhi’ - a modern area of New Delhi designed by the English architect Edwin Lutyens. The neighbourhood, constructed in the first half of the 20th century (during the rule of the British Empire), is characterized by monuments that try to combine tradition with modernity. One of them is the first stop on our itinerary – the famous India Gate.
Only a few metres from this archway is where we find the governmental buildings of Delhi and the Tomb of Safdar Jung. Do you know the history behind this memorial? Finally, we stop in front of the Sikh Temple of Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, who is venerated for a curious miracle… We conclude the tour by savouring a refreshing breakfast at the Broadway Hotel.
