Wilpattu National Park
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Dambulla before heading to the beautiful Wilpattu National Park because at that time we'll pick you up at your hotel in Dambulla. If you're still sleepy, don't worry, you will soon wake up when you set eyes on the big leopards baring their teeth! We arrive at Wilpattu National Park, a vast nature reserve in the northwest of Sri Lanka.
Then, onboard a comfortable off-road jeep, we will start our safari of Wilpattu. On this route, we will see one of the most iconic species of this area of Asia: the Sri Lankan leopard. You will recognize them immediately by their distinctive gold fur and big black spots. Legend has it that their gaze alone is enough to stun their prey.
During the safari, we will also see one of Wilpattu's most iconic species: the Sri Lankan sloth bear. We'll hear some fascinating facts about this mammal and the curious biological explanation behind its strange snout.
Deer, buffalo and even Asian elephants also inhabit the Wilpattu ecosystem - we'll see all these species in their natural environment!
After a break for lunch (remember to bring your own picnic), the safari finishes at the entrance to the national park at 2 pm. From this point, we then return by minibus to your hotel in Dambulla, arriving 11 hours later.
