Trip Details
Day 1: Damascus
Once you reach the Damascus Airport, we'll be waiting to assist you with the entry procedures into the country. Afterwards, we'll take you to the hotel in the city where you'll be spending the next few nights. Welcome to Syria!
Day 2: Damascus
We'll begin our trip across Syria and Lebanon by exploring Damascus and its gems. Our first stop will be the National Archaeological Museum, where we'll learn about the origins of Syria's capital and go over the different eras of the city through its exhibitions. Afterwards, we'll visit the Al-Azm Palace to witness how Damascus nobles lived in the past.
We'll continue the tour at the Mausoleum of Saladin, a great sultan, and the Umayyad Mosque, whose architecture is a source of great fascination. We'll pass by Straight Street, the Saint Ananias House, and the Chapel of Saint Paul, as well as Damascus' souqs, where we'll wander around its many stalls.
We'll conclude the day back at the hotel.
Day 3: Damascus - Maaloula - Krak des Chevaliers - Homs
After having discovered Damascus' ancient secrets, we'll have breakfast and set off for Maaloula to visit this unique town with houses carved into the rock. Did you know that Aramaic is still spoken there?
Our journey through Syria will continue to Krak des Chevaliers, an impressive and historic fortress founded by the Templar Knights of Tripoli.
Next, we’ll head to Homs to spend the night there.
Day 4: Homs - Palmyra - Hama
We'll begin our day with breakfast at the hotel in Homs, before heading over to the Palmyra ruins, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We'll explore this archaeological gem in Syria and see the Temple of Bel's ruins, the Monumental Arch, the Great Colonnade, the agora, and the theatre.
We'll also visit the Palyrma necropolis, located in the mountains, and explore the different types of tombs there.
The day will end in Hama, where we'll spend the night.
Day 5: Hama - Aleppo
We'll have breakfast at the hotel in Hama and get ready to visit its wooden waterwheels, which are still operational today. Afterwards, we'll head to Aleppo, one of the oldest cities in Syria and one of the most significant due to its strategic position on trade routes.
We'll spend the night at a hotel in Aleppo.
Day 6: Aleppo - Damascus
We'll continue exploring Aleppo after breakfast. We'll visit its Citadel, situated on a hill where settlements existed as far back as the third millennium BC, and then we'll see the Great Mosque of Aleppo, a remarkable example of Umayyad architecture.
We'll take a stroll through the caravanserai, an ancient inn, and the souqs. In the afternoon, we'll head to Damascus for the night.
Day 7: Damascus - Anjar - Baalbek
We'll have breakfast at the hotel in Damascus and then leave the city to cross the border into Lebanon. We'll head to the Beqaa Valley to visit Anjar, where we'll see its Umayyad ruins and learn about its caliphate history.
Next, we'll travel to Baalbek to wander among its Roman remains, strolling between the temples of Jupiter, Venus, and Bacchus. On our way to Beirut, we'll stop at a vineyard in Ksara to sample some of the area's famous wines.
Upon arriving in Beirut, we'll go to the hotel for dinner and rest until the following day.
Day 8: Byblos - Tripoli
After breakfast, we'll visit Byblos and Tripoli, two of Lebanon's most notable cities. In Byblos, we'll admire its Phoenician walls, the Roman theatre, the Crusader castle, the St. John the Baptist Church, and the port.
In the afternoon, we'll arrive in Tripoli, which has one of the most important seaports in the Middle East. We'll see the citadel and its temples, and take a stroll through its souqs.
Once we've finished our visits, we'll return to Beirut for the night.
Day 9: Beirut
After having breakfast at the hotel, we'll take you to the airport in Beirut with plenty of time to make sure you catch your return flight. Come back soon!
