Discover the capital of the Inca Empire with an exclusive guide accompanied by your partner, family, or friends with this private tour of Cusco. The most exclusive way to enjoy the city!
Description
When booking, you can opt for a private tour of 4 or 8 hours with an exclusive English-speaking guide. We'll start the tour from wherever you want, be it the door of your accommodation or any other central point of Cusco.
4-hour tour
After meeting at any central point of Cusco or your accommodation, we'll start the walking tour through what was the capital of the Inca Empire centuries ago. In this private tour, you'll discover how the pre-colonial legacy coexists with the architectural style inherited from the Spaniards.
During the guided tour, we'll make several stops to admire the exterior of Cusco's main buildings. But remember that this is a private tour, so if any place catches your attention and you want to tour inside, we can make a stop!
Our first stop will be in front of the Church of San Cristobal, in the square of the same name. With the imperial city at your feet, you'll understand why this place is considered the best viewpoint in Cusco.
Next, we'll visit the Central Market of San Pedro to learn about the daily life of the inhabitants of Cusco. Food stalls, fresh fruits, snacks, and exotic products brought from the Amazonia... We'll go into this picturesque and lively place to learn about this area's main products.
It's said that walking around Cusco is like entering a great open-air museum, and our next stop is one of its masterpieces. The Inca temple of Coricancha, whose name means "Golden Temple" in Quechua, is the most impressive in the city. Although its walls are no longer covered in gold as they were in Inca times, the temple retains all its magnificence. On the base of this ancient Inca temple dedicated to the Sun God, the church and convent of Santo Domingo were built. Its interior houses a museum with pieces of Inca culture that were found during excavations.
We'll continue ascending until we reach the Fortress of Sacsayhuaman, an imposing example of Inca military architecture. Afterwards, we'll continue to delve deeper into Inca architecture by visiting the archaeological site of Q'enko.
Finally, we'll return to the central Plaza de Armas to visit the Cathedral of Cusco, one of the greatest repositories of colonial art in the region. At this last point, we'll end our private tour of Cusco after 4 hours of sightseeing, knowing much more about the history and curiosities of this city.
8-hour tour
Want a longer tour? If you opt for the 8-hour tour, we'll have more time to visit the center of Cusco and museums such as the MAP or the Inka Museum. After learning much more about the pre-Columbian culture of Cusco, we can go to the bohemian neighborhood of San Blas. We can also go to see the Twelve-Angled Stone and the viewpoint of the White Christ. You decide where we'll head to!
You'll also have an hour and a half of free time to have lunch in an area of your choice.
