Day 1: Cusco - Abra Malaga - Santa Maria
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Cusco and drive to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We'll first pass through the village of Chinchero, where we'll enjoy breathtaking views of the Vilcabamba and Vilcanota mountain ranges.
The route will then continue to the village of Ollantaytambo. From there we'll continue to the Abra Malaga Pass, where we'll get on a bicycle to ride to the village of Santa Maria. Along the way, we'll see the Inca site of Huamanmarca, where we'll have lunch.
The route will end at a centrally located two-star hostel in Santa Maria. From there, in the afternoon, we'll go rafting on the Blanco River. After this exciting experience, we'll return to the hostel in Santa Maria for dinner and to spend the night.
Day 2: Santa Maria - Quellomayo - Santa Teresa
After breakfast at the hostel in Santa Maria, we'll trek along the original Inca trail that used to connect Machu Picchu with Vilcabamba, considered to be the last Inca capital. During the walk of approximately 3 hours, we'll appreciate many plantations of banana, coca, yucca, coffee...and more!
We'll stop in the village of Quellomayo for lunch. Afterwards, we'll continue with a 3.5-hour hike along the Vilcanota River until we reach a centrally located hotel in Santa Teresa, where we'll have dinner and spend the night.
Day 3: Santa Teresa - Hidroélectrica - Aguas Calientes
After breakfast at the hotel, we'll leave Santa Teresa Teresa and drive to a 4 zip-line circuit. Afterwards, we'll drive by road to Hidroeléctrica for lunch. After lunch, we'll hike for 3 hours to a hotel in Aguas Calientes, where we'll have dinner and spend the night.
Day 4: Aguas Calientes - Macchu Picchu - Cusco
On our last day, we'll get up very early and, from Aguas Calientes, set off on a trekking route through the jungle to Macchu Picchu. After a short breakfast on the way, we'll take a guided tour of the archaeological site of Macchu Picchu, the legendary city of the Incas!
After the visit to Macchu Picchu, we'll start a 3-hour trekking route to Hidroeléctrica. From there, you'll return by road to your hotel in Cusco, where you're expected to arrive at 8 pm.
Accommodation
This tour includes 3 nights of accommodation with breakfast. The 3-star hotels and hostels planned for the tour are the following:
- Santa Maria: Hostal Doña Elena or similar.
- Santa Teresa: Monte Villa Hotel or similar.
- Aguas Calientes: Killa Inn Hotel, Quetzal Hotel or similar.
The prices shown are per adult in a double room.
Important
In the event of the activity being cancelled due to strikes or adverse weather conditions, we'll give you an alternative date for the tour. If the tour cannot be rescheduled, please note that you'll be refunded the full amount of the activity, except for the entrance fee to Machu Picchu (approx. S/ 200 (US$ 54.62)), which is non-refundable.
