2-Day Trip: Machu Picchu, Ollantaytambo + Pisac

  • 15 reviews | 166 travellers
The organization was perfect. We were taken care of at all times. The guides were very professional. The visits were adapted to our tastes without any problems. The first day we had Wilbert, very very professional, for the Sacred Valley, and the second day Ruth, simply charming. With the PeruAndestop agency you can travel with peace of mind.

If you're in Cusco, don't miss out on this 2-day trip to Machu Picchu and the Sacred Inca Valley! See one of the most important archeological sites in Peru.

What to Expect

Day 1: Cusco - Sacred Valley of the Incas - Aguas Calientes

We'll pick you up from your hotel in Cusco and set off on an exciting adventure into the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Plus, we'll also visit Pisac, one of Peru's most beautiful Incan archeological sites.

As we arrive in the colonial town of Pisac, we'll enjoy a walking tour through the cobble-stoned streets, leading us to a breathtaking view from the mountaintop. Here, we'll leave you some free time to browse the handicraft market and find a perfect souvenir.

Following our visit, we'll head to Urubamba for lunch. With our appetites satiated, we'll visit the archeological complex of Ollantaytambo, where we'll see an ancient Incan rock technique used hundreds of years ago. Don't forget to glimpse the towering hill fortress nearby, too!

Then, we'll catch a train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes, heading straight to our hotel upon arrival. Be sure to get a good night's rest as tomorrow will be jam-packed with adventure!

Day 2: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco

Start the day off right with a delicious breakfast with us, and from there, we'll head to the site we've all been waiting for: Machu Picchu!

Slowly but surely, we'll climb the intricate trail that rewards us with a spectacular view of the Urubamba River, which also shapes the famous canyon below. As we come to the trail's end, we'll be greeted by the Lost City of the Incas and its incredible terraces, staircases, and ceremonial quarters. With this view alone, it's easy to see why Machu Picchu is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the World and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983.

We'll enjoy a guided visit to the archeological complex and then cap off the day with a typical lunch at one of the local restaurants nearby. Then, it's time to board our train again and bring you back to your hotel in Cusco where we'll arrive in the early evening.

Accommodation

The tour includes a 1-night stay with breakfast at one of the following hotels depending on your tour option selected:
