Laguna Huayllarcocha Fire Ceremony
Laguna Huayllarcocha Fire Ceremony
We'll pick you up at your hotel in Cusco at the indicated time and leave the city behind for a trip to Laguna Huayllarcocha.
After half an hour's drive, we'll arrive at this lake, a magical place in the middle of nature brimming with energy and mysticism. The perfect place to perform an Inca fire ceremony!
In the area, we'll see all kinds of animals like alpacas, llamas, wild ducks and flamingos. Near the shore, the Inca priest will be waiting for us to officiate the ritual. A unique experience awaits!
This ceremony consists of cleansing with the sacred Inca fire in a ritual known as Inti Raymi. The high priest or Huillac Huma proceeds to greet the Sun God with a coca leaf, a sacred plant in the Andean world, and asks the sun to send its heat and light the new sacred fire.
Over the course of an hour, we'll imagine how these ceremonies were performed in ancient times and, at the end of the experience, we'll listen to lyrical singing by a soprano, the perfect finishing touch!
Once the fire ceremony is over, we'll take you back to your hotel in Cusco.
