Hiking the Inca Trail
Description
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Cuzco as we set off to begin one of the most extraordinary journeys in Peru. Are you prepared to embark on the Inca Trail?
Our journey begins from the Ollantaytambo train station, where we board the train bound for kilometer 104, the gateway to Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, our trek along the Inca Trcosuide will bring us to one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Over three hours, we'll traverse the Sacred Valley of the Incas, absorbing its enchanting beauty.
As we hike, you'll be captivated by the breathtaking Andean mountain landscapes that seamlessly merge with the lush cloud forest. No hike of the Inca Trail would be complete without several stops along the way, allowing you to savor the surroundings at your own pace and fully immerse yourself in the experience.
We'll arrive to the archaeological site of Wiñay Huayna, where we'll delve into the captivating legends surrounding this mystical place. Following this, a delightful lunch will be served, providing the perfect opportunity to recharge. Energized and ready to explore, we'll resume our expedition through the complex. This includes visits to the ancient houses, terraces, and towers and the iconic Inti Punku, also known as the Inca Gate of the Sun. From here, we'll be treated to our initial glimpses of the awe-inspiring Machu Picchu.
On the final leg of our journey, we'll enter Machu Picchu's gates and explore its remarkable enclosures, enchanting fountains, and revered temples. Once our tour concludes, we'll go to Aguas Calientes, where you'll board the train for your return journey to Ollantaytambo.
Upon your arrival in Cuzco, we'll welcome you back and provide transportation back to your hotel, bringing this memorable day of exploration to a close.
