4-Day Tour Details
Day 1: Cusco
In the morning, we'll be waiting for you at the arrivals terminal of Cusco airport. From there, we'll head to the hotel so you can settle into your room and have lunch on your own.
At 1 pm, we'll take a guided tour of Cusco, passing by the main square and its beautiful cathedral. We'll also see the famous ruins of Cusco: the Temple of Qoricancha, aka the Temple of the Sun and one of the most important religious centers of the Inca Empire; the fortress of Sacsayhuaman; the Qenqo Temple; the Puca Pucara, or "Red Watchtower"; and Tambomachay, aka El Baño del Inca (The Bath of the Inca).
Finally, you can have dinner at the hotel in Cusco and rest up for day 2.
Day 2: Rainbow Mountain
We'll leave the hotel very early in the morning and travel by bus to Chirihuani, in the district of Cusipata, where we'll have a delicious Andean breakfast. Then we'll hike to Rainbow Mountain, also called Apu Vinicunca, for 1.5 hours. The route will take us to the foothills of the Red Valley, a place of great mystical symbolism.
We'll climb up to 17,060 ft (5,200 meters) above sea level until we reach the majestic Vinicunca Mountain. Here, you'll have free time to take lots of pictures! We'll then return to Cusipata to enjoy a typical Cusquenian lunch. After lunch, we'll finally return to the city of Cusco.
Day 3: Machu Picchu
No trip to Peru should miss Machu Picchu, one of the 7 Wonders of the Modern World! We'll leave the hotel in Cusco at around 4 am and make our way to Ollantaytambo train station. There, we'll board a train and set off on a spectacular railway route through stunning mountain landscapes to the town of Agua Calientes.
Once in Aguas Calientes, we'll catch the bus up to Machu Picchu, often called the lost city of the Inca Empire. We'll enjoy a fascinating guided tour of the ancient citadel and learn all about the secrets hidden in its ruins!
We'll finish the tour by returning by bus to Aguas Calientes, where you'll have 2 hours of free time to soak and relax on your own in the city's thermal baths. In the afternoon, we'll take the train to Ollantaytambo and, from there, the bus to your hotel in Cusco, where you'll be able to rest and have dinner on your own.
